SOY CANDLE BURNING & SAFETY INFORMATION
-
It’s best NOT to trim the wick when lighting your soy candle for the first time. Your wick should be at least ¼ inch from wax but never more than ½ inch. Trimming your wick too short will cause improper burning.
-
If your wick begins to smoke, that’s a good indication that the wick is too long.
-
Re-trim your wick before every use.
-
Soy wax has a “memory”. When you first light your candle, burn it until the wax at the top of the candle has melted to the edge of the container. General recommendations are to burn the candle at least 1 hour per inch of width of candle. This will help prevent the candle from burning in a “tunnel”. If your candle starts to tunnel & has not gone too far, you may be able stop it by burning the candle for longer period of time. The first time you burn a new candle, it will take more time for the wax at the top to melt to the edge of the container.
-
Discontinue use when 1/4" of wax remains. Allowing the candle to burn until no wax remains will cause excessive heat leading to damage of furniture & glass can crack or break.
-
It is best NOT to move a burning candle. Glass & tin containers may become hot.
-
Burn responsibly! Place candles on a heat resistant, dry surface away from anything that can catch fire. Keep out of reach of children, pets & drafts.
-
Burn candles in a draft free area clear of combustible material such as curtains, books, baskets, etc.
-
Do not place the lid on a candle container to extinguish the flame.
-
NEVER leave lit candles unattended while burning. Always be within view of them!
-
ALWAYS extinguish candles before going to sleep.
